Eric S - you bore me. No...really.

It's not at all surprising to me that the not-too-subtle differences between GN,DS would be lost on you. The only person in this thread to use the word "piss" was you. Your rhetorical comments regarding how DS is adminstered have no basis in reality, but your opinion has been duly noted.

I thought maybe I was getting involved in a genuinely good-natured trading of barbs with Vaughn - a bit of one-up manship, but it's evident there are some deep personal resentment issues coupled with the inability to let much of anything go or move forward. I apologize for my expectations.

Don't pawn your psychosis off on me. You're the one who has online battles with virtually every drum related forum in existence, not me. You can play the passive aggressive victim you are so expert at playing but I'm not buying it. You made your bed.

I don't trust you, nobody here does, and you're not coming back to GN acting like there's no history, that you didn't flat out lie to us about the son of satriani thing, give us the song and dance about hackers schmackers, that you didn't threaten to sic your lawyers on us, that you didn't post here anonymously and deny it after getting busted, that you didn't post on another forum as another user to edit disparaging remarks about yourself.

We all know you hide out at drumsmith. You attract the problems you have there because you're insane. I don't know a single person in the industry who knows you who doesn't think you're off your rocker. You should make sure you are taking the proper meds my brother. I'm so boring that I've been banned from narcissmith. Drives my point home pretty well I'd say, eh?

Apparently he feels I attacked him personally. It was a simple observation on how the bladder release flows freely in other forums' backyard. Maybe he's just holds deep personal resentment that Drum Foundry doesn't sell his throw anymore - the reasons for which are not-too-subtle.

I got sucked in to his website last night. It reaks of self-righteousness. I got to reading his "mission statement" page or whatever you call it. I'm not a business man by no means....but he actually uses the words "Yadda yadda yadda" and "bullshit" on it a few times. Isn't there a time and place for certain language and words? I'm so boring that I've been banned from narcissmith. Drives my point home pretty well I'd say, eh?

If nothing it illustrates your operating paradigm.

Apparently he feels I attacked him personally.

Not at all. Personal attacks are nothing new and I enjoy them on the rare occassions when they have at least one foot based in truth and fact.

It was a simple observation on how the bladder release flows freely in other forums' backyard.

You fail to mention that the bladder comment was a tongue-in-cheek in response to Vaughn's tongue-in-cheek request to be "blessed" after he provided the requisite genuflection before me.

It was a joke - plain and simple, and I understand that perhaps satire is lost on you.

Nonetheless, DS is not a font of purity, nor has anyone professed it to be. There are some rather..."bladderous" topics in discussion right now, so your suggestion is false.

Maybe he's just holds deep personal resentment that Drum Foundry doesn't sell his throw anymore - the reasons for which are not-too-subtle.

Uh - no. I give you my solemn word Eric, I'm relieved (pardon the pun) that you no longer carry the R Class throw off and I have good reason. It certainly hasn't had an impact on sales and I get the feeling that Andy at Drum Supply House might be pleased with your decision.

Anyway, don't flatter yourself - deep personal resentment is a very rare and special thing for me, not to be squandered on the inane. But I'll be happy to buy you a beer.

For those of you who missed last nights chat session filled with live racial slurs - which included calling my wife a "squaw" - and don't know Wayne "World of Pain" Hawthorn...
Blah blah blah, like we care. This is the forum version of Lardo/Schuh. You're not innocent here brother. There are two sides and I'm sure Wayne's stories about you are not made up. Stealing a drum and running off, then getting busted and blaming it on your meds? I don't know if that's accurate or not but it sure is funny. I hope it's true just because it's one ripping good yarn.

And I just have to reiterate what EDog said. 'bout 4 lattes a month homies so bring the funk!

Hey Wayne, why not tell everyone the story you fabricated about the Butternut shell "stolen" from the Chicago show?

Too bad you can't be there - unemployment is a bitch eh?

For those of you who missed last nights chat session filled with live racial slurs - which included calling my wife a "squaw" - and don't know Wayne "World of Pain" Hawthorn, let me introduce you to him via some of the threats and racist hate mail he used to send me before his ISP security department shut him down...

This is some of the "lighthearted" stuff I received. No one needs to read the threats about coming to my home and harming my family.

Here, let me tell you about the Chicago Butternut story that Wayne made up. It's a good one!

Well Wayne, or True North or steambent - you still haven't answered the question and I doubt you will so I'll answer for you.

In April 2001 I purchased a few shells from True North aka Wayne Hawthorn, a man who actually sells paint for a living. One of those shells was a 5.5 x 14 Butternut that was lacquered in gloss. It sat around my shop for a few years. As a matter of fact as soon as it arrived I engraved it "old school" with the sand etched Dunnett logo - a process that I haven't used for a long time. I couldn't really sell it at the time as it was out of round and the seam was all over the place (or as Wayne said in an email to me "as i mentioned the butternut was
not sanding the way we wanted"). In fact I threw them in the garbage but a friend suggested I keep them and make SunLuck drums from them. So they went with me when I moved my shop. It took some time but I finally got around to fixing what was wrong with the shell(s) including recutting the edges and installing snare beds of my own design. I decided I didn't like the gloss so I had it refinished in matte lacquer.

I have the receipt for this shell. I also have all of the email messages exchanged with Wayne on this subject including this one:

Ronn .........Everything is fine! Will send monday a butternut {which is part
of the walnut family},and a cherry both with edges cut.I have more if you are
interested, cause they are going fast. How is the progress on the beech
shell? wh

The butternut drum was recently sold to Rezurrection Drums in Florida. The drum has some very interesting features including the signature of the Thomas Martinson, a member of the Mennonite group that does wood work - including making shells for Hawthorn - about 90 minutes outside of Toronto, Canada. The signature is in pencil and it also bears a serial number: SN 12. (Twelve)

I think, given the information I have just entered here, that it's pretty evident what Wayne was insinuating. There aren't a lot of solid shell Butternut drums floating around in stores in Florida. In fact I can say with 100% certainty there is only one and it has the name Dunnett on it. In fact someone made an inquiry on the drumsmith forum regarding this very drum.

Was a drum actually stolen from the Chicago show? I sent an inquiry to Rob Cooke asking if he knows of anything that was taken. The only thing that went AWOL from the show was a catalogue. There was only one man at the Chicago show who was selling solid shells from Wayne / True North: Collector and all around gentleman Micheal Gilbert. I bought a streaked hickory shell from Micheal - I'm going to have to fix that one too because it's not round as Greg Gaylord (Drum Solo) pointed out to me. I spoke to Michael - he wasn't missing a thing.

So, it appears that the "theft" is pure fiction and the only thing actually taken was anyone who bothered to respond in earnest. Why? Anger. Frustration. Envy. Revenge. Why someone would want to invent something like this that could damage a person's reputation and integrity is beyond me. Verbal sparring and cheap shots are one thing, engaging in libel is another. It certainly raises some credibility issues and I am aware that Wayne had been the source of a number of fabrications to do with me, none of them flattering. This is just another. I hope this clarifies and puts things in perspective for everyone at DCI with regard to Wayne Hawthorn and the "stolen" butternut snare drum, which - by the way - may still be available.

--------------------------

Now Wayne never had the balls to actually come out in public and make his accusation directly, but it doesn't take much to figure out what he was trying to do. It was quite embarrasing for him, or would be if he was capable of that particular emotion.

And why would he do such a thing? Because I stopped buying his shells..why? Because I took an order for a pair of walnut snare drums and the order was placed with WH. 6 weeks passed and I asked when the shells would arrive. The reply: 6 months! I told him I couldn't make my client wait that long and that I would have to go to another supplier. I called the client and told him his order would be delayed, and guess what? The client - Michael G told me he had located a couple of walnut shells - FROM A GUY IN CANADA. Now THAT'S how you do business - IF you don't want me as customer and I told that to WH. Well, he didn't like that. No, he didn;t like any of that. He also wouldn't take the warped shells back. And then of course proceeded to post nutty garbage on forums (including this one but ol' edog got on that one REAL quick, dincha E?) and inviting people to email him so he could tell them the above "tale" and from what I hear a few other great works of fiction and fantasy. Not to mention some real friendly emails that had me dialing up my ISP so block his messages. Can you say RABID?

SO next time you sit there gazing at your computer screen and asking me to justify my taking someone to task remember this little ditty.

I'm not talking about the Butternut shell, I heard something from someone else about a Ayotte snare I think. Running off with it and claiming your meds were not working or something. Is that another story made up by another person? That's the one I like. The butternut shell story is boring. You quoted me perfectly too, Ronn and I stand by that. It's all just a bunch of pastime entertainment. Thanks for keeping me entertained!!

Anyone that posts private emails in the attempt to sway the public in any way doesn't have the moral or character to even conduct themselves on these public forums in a respectable manner.

This thread is being closed and kept on record to show once again how Mr. Dunnett likes to conduct things in front of a audience on other boards while at his own parading as a forum law abiding citizen.

If these are the kind of actions a admin at a popular drum board will stoop too then using your personal email address or other personal info must be highly considered before registering.

Thriving on, and perpetuating, these conditions while pretending it's the fault of others on the Internet drum forum landscape is so old I think I just farted dust and sneezed it all over my living room floor.

Other forums and GhostNote included are not dumping grounds for peoples inner demons.

Rules that seem not to apply to Mr. D when visiting other boards. Mind you these are the rules at Mr. D's own DrumSmith.

1.By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

2.You further agree that you will not cross post topics or messages whole or in part and that you understand and agree that all content contained on drumsmith.com is copyright protected.

3.Calling our honored members names, intentionally abusing them personally or otherwise making them feel unwelcome can result in your own welcome being withdrawn and your membership being revoked.

4.Abusive Posting: Personal attacks, wishing death on innocents, racism, antisemitism, and trolling are all prohibited and can result in your membership being revoked.

5.Ban Bypass: A user who has had their membership revoked means they are no longer welcome. They do not just lose the username - the welcome is gone by any other name as well.

6.Changing Screen Names: This is generally disallowed. The reasons for this are the problems inherent with our honored members needing to remember a list of "AKA" and the abuse that comes with Multiple Screen Names such as puppeteering (posting in agreement with yourself) and playing both sides of a debate to make yourself look good.

7.Personal attacks are not permitted any more than most people would tolerate themselves or their family being called names by a guest in their own home. Members who do such things often find their welcome withdrawn, and on Drumsmith.com it results in the instant revocation of the offender's membership.

8.Flooding: Flooding is a form of spamming, it's the practice of bumping other topics out of view in favor of changing the board to either increase your own visibility or decrease the visibility of another guest or topic. It can be cross-posting identical topics in different Forums or multiple posts in any one forum with identical or nearly identical content.

9.Closely approximating another member's screen name for the purposes of being mistaken for them or mocking them as you destroy their reputation falls clearly into the realm of abuse of honored guests, and that amount of malice and aforethought rises to the level of revocation of the offender's membership.

10.Personal Information: Do not post personal telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, street addresses, or mailing addresses of anyone but yourself or by expressed permission of the person whose information you are posting.

11.Retreads: This term refers to previously banned users who attempt to slip by a ban by assuming a different screen name and resume posting as if he had gotten welcomed again. This is in violation of the Ban Bypass and is outside of the banned user procedure.

"All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of Drumsmith.com, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message."

This last one is most intresting considering the flak for the SOS satirical observative article on the frontpage of GN I recieve.
