Thanks Andy! I really like to think outside the box on things. I have a couple of ideas I am gonna have to work out at some point that are really crazy. :) I will be posting more info soon. I am currently doing the layout and drilling.

I will definitely get some recordings done on it. I will probably have to send those out by email I guess... we'll see what happens.... its one of those designs that should work, but you never know what will come of it.

This project looks absolutely insane...in a good way! Im still trying to wrap my head around it and wondering how the ply wood isnt going to just pop off during an insane rim shot or something?

All will be revealed in due time... :) or at least when I get everything figured out myself. :)

you could allways throw a re-ring under the plywood if you havent allready, thats probably you best bet for keeping everything together

I have another way :) but thanks man... I actually tried that but didn't like the look or the result.

Thanks for showing how you cut wraps, that cutter looks like it would be very helpful. Does it work with glass glitter wraps?

This way of cutting applies to all types of wraps. The sparkle and glitter wraps just have to have two passes with the cutting blade instead of one pass for general wraps. :) Hope this helps. I am getting closer to the final product.

I like that you posted drawings. I like drawings. If you do more, I'd like to see those too.

are you gunna tell us what it sounds like? it looks great, kinda like a cake very interesting. great job the white ring is a distraction to the finish tho, black like you did on the inside would have gone better well thats what i think, but what do i know i havent done anything close to this cool

This drum has an interesting combination sound. When you play on the head, it sounds like a 13" or 14" snare. But when you do rim shots it sounds more like a warm metal snare sound. The tuning range is also pretty large and the snare is very responsive and sensitive.

As for the white ring... I did that so that there was a distinct seperation between the two shells. I agree that the black looks good but it didn't give me that POP that I was looking for. This way... it definitely says... look at me! :)

Thanks again!

Amazing looking drum. That is truly spectacular. It would only be better if you didnt have to see the brackets holding the angled metal on.

Well as are most of my creations... this is the first one I have built. So I have a bunch of things I want to change and update for future drums. :) Thank you all for your comments, questions, and ideas.

Good luck to all of the builders and I really look forward to seeing what happens. :)

Well we are getting closer and closer!! Good luck all. I am going to try and get some sound files done tonight maybe and if anyone is interested in hearing this drum at some point I can send you the sound files. Gonna be a busy week here so I will try and get them done ASAP.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Take care.
